DISC 3 THE NEW ADVENTURES OF TARZAN Herman Brix, (AKA Bruce Bennett) a silver medalist shot-putter in the 1928 Olympics, played the title role in a 1935 serial THE NEW ADVENTURES OF TARZAN, co-produced by Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs. This serial was later re-cut into two features, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF TARZAN and its sequel, TARZAN AND THE GREEN GODDESS. The plot takes Tarzan from the jungles of Africa to the jungles of Guatemala to find his missing friend, as well as the Lost Goddess, a mysterious pagan idol with a strange secret. BONUS: SHEENA QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE: "Curse of the Voodoo" Sexy Irish McCalla stars as a jungle girl in the Tarzan mode in an episode of this famous TV show. DISC 4 TARZAN AND THE GREEN GODDESS Tarzan's adventures in Guatemala continue where THE NEW ADVENTURES OF TARZAN left off. A pagan idol called the Green Goddess is what both the good guys and the bad guys are after. Because Burroughs co-produced the film, this Tarzan is closer to his own vision of the Lord of the Apes-or Lord Greystoke, as he is often referred to in the movie-- and speaks in proper English just as in Burroughs' books. Brix later changed his name to Bruce Bennett and appeared in many other serials and adventure movies. BONUS: SHEENA QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE: "Forbidden Cargo" Sexy Irish McCalla stars as a jungle girl in the Tarzan mode in an episode of this famous TV show. DISC 5 TARZAN AND THE TRAPPERS Former army drill instructor, fireman and lifeguard Gordon Scott had a varied career before being cast as the jungle lord in a series of Tarzan movies, including TARZAN AND THE TRAPPERS, made in 1958. It is a feature film composed of three episodes of a proposed TV series. After Tarzan traps some trappers, a hunter decides to hunt Tarzan! Eva Brent co-stars as Jane with Rickie Sorensen as Boy and Sherman "Scatman" Crothers as the village chief. Scott went on to star in a number of sword and sandal muscleman movies. BONUS: Tarzan for Health Gordon Scott's Tarzan promotes good health as well as his new film in this ultra-rare TV spot. BONUS: KID'IN AFRICA, starring Shirley Temple as the damsel in distress being rescued by the peewee Tarzan-like hero.
