Description:

Night at the Museum is an action-adventure-comedy that comes to life by night and takes place in the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Good-hearted dreamer Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), despite being perpetually down on his luck, thinks he's destined for something big. But even he could never have imaged how "big," when he accepts what appears to be a menial job as a graveyard-shift security guard at a museum of natural history. During Larry's watch, extraordinary things begin to occur: Mayans, Roman Gladiators, and cowboys emerge from their diorama to wage epic battles; in his quest for fire, a Neanderthal burns down his own display; Attila the Hun pillages his neighboring exhibits, and a Tyrannosaurus rex reminds everyone why he's history's fiercest predator. Amidst the chaos, the only person Larry can turn to for advice is a wax figure of President Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams), who helps our hero harness the bedlam, stop a nefarious plot, and save the museum.

Ben Stiller leads an all star cast, in this extremely funny and highly energized film. Night at the Museum is about Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), a divorced father, whose life has been filled with failed get rich quick ideas. Most recently, his attempt at rejuvenating the light switch industry, buy creating “the Snapper” (an idea he swears would have worked, had someone not stolen it and invented the clapper). In an attempt to create a more stable environment for his son, who visits him on Wednesdays, Larry takes a job as the late night security officer at the Museum of Natural History. Little does he know, how much this new job, will change his life. Upon Larry’s first night, he comes to find that everything inside the museum comes to life at night because of an ancient curse. With the help of Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), Jebadiah (Owen Wilson) and many others, Larry must restore order in the museum, and even overcome his own fears and limitations as he fights to keep this nightly miracle alive.

Night at the museum is a fun filled, deeply entertaining tale of one mans struggle with personal limitations. The story is based on the idea, that not everyman is born great, but throughout life, has opportunities to seize greatness through his/her actions. It is a very funny movie, filled with tremendous special effects. A must see film, great for the whole family.
